BTS member Jin (Kim Seok Jin) was recently seen at an award ceremony for traditional liquors.
According to various SNS sites and online communities on November 26th, BTS Jin and chef Baek Jong Won attended the 12th Korea Heritage Liquor Awards held in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do.
Korea Heritage Liquor Awards is a national traditional contest to discover and popularize traditional liquors. This year, the contest was held for traditional liquor made using rice from “Super O’ning”, an integrated agricultural and specialty product brand in Pyeongtaek. More than 180 kinds of liquor were submitted for the contest from different places in Korea. After going through the preliminary round and advancing to the final, 60 liquor products in 3 categories, Cheongju, TakJu and Soju, were judged and awarded prizes.
Baek Jong Won attended the event to give his evaluations on the liquor products, while BTS Jin drew attention with his appearance as a special judge.
However, according to Jin’s latest SNS post after attending the awards ceremony, his comments and reviews were not reflected in the scores. Jin explained on his Instagram, saying “My reviews as a special judge at the Korea Heritage Liquor Awards were not reflected in the results. There are still many things I don’t know (about liquors), so I asked them to exclude my scores”
On the same day, mainstream culture columnist Myung Wook posted a proof shot taken with Baek Jong Won and Jin. He also released pictures of the scenes at the awards ceremony with Baek Jong Won.
Earlier, Jin drew attention by introducing his own content “Jin’s Traditional Alcohol Journey” on the official Youtube channel of BTS. The content shows Jin making alcohol with Baek Jong Won and includes a project to promote Korean traditional liquors.
