BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom” choreography video surpassed 20 million views in one day, high expectations for comeback stage

The popularity of BLACKPINK and their pre-release single “Pink Venom” continues to attract attention

According to YG Entertainment on August 26th, BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom” choreography video surpassed 20 million YouTube views within 24 hours of release.

Considering that it is a choreography video and not a music video, the number of views is increasing very quickly. In fact, it surpassed BLACKPINK’s choreography video for “How You Like That”, which currently holds the record for most-watched choreography video with over 1.2 billion YouTube views, and exceeded 18.8 million views in the first 24 hours.

Since the full version of “Pink Venom” performance was first released through a dance video, it draws keen attention from global fans, who have been showing favorable responses such as “Pink Venom is BLACKPINK’s identity itself”, “I can’t wait for the comeback stage”, and “World Class Performance Queen”.

If this trend continues, it will be easy for “Pink Venom” choreography video to join BLACKPINK’s billion-view collection. Meanwhile, the music video for “Pink Venom” also surpassed 100 million views in 29 hours and 35 minutes, the fastest for a K-pop girl group, and is about to reach 200 million views.

“Pink Venom” is also gaining popularity on various global charts other than YouTube. The song became the first Korean track to top Spotify’s Global Top Song Chart for three days in a row, and has so far topped the iTunes song charts in 75 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom. In addition, BLACKPINK, who haven’t even started their promotion,  already won first place in MBC’s “Show Champion” and Mnet “M!Countdown” with this new song.
