BLACKPINK to comeback earliest this July, investors said

Everyone expects the world-famous Kpop girl group BLACKPINK to return in the second half of this year, including investors

The investment industry is expecting major YG artists to appear in the second half of 2022, as YG’s performance in the first quarter was rather sluggish. YG’s sales in the first quarter amounted to 75.5 billion won (59 million USD) with operating profits at 6.1 billion won (4.7 million USD), down 22.4% and 21.4% year on year, respectively.

At this alarming condition, researcher Lee Hye In at the financial firm Yuanta Securities said: “Blackpink is expected to make a comeback in the third quarter and start a tour in the fourth quarter.” Taking into account 5 weeks of pre-order before release, this means BLACKPINK will come back earliest in July.

“There can also be usual changes in YG’s comeback schedules. However, the possibility of adjustments in the company’s expected lineup for its major artists during the second half of 2022 is extremely low,” she also added.

Lee Hyun Jin, a researcher at Yoo Jin Investment & Securities, also expressed his opinion, saying: “Profits are expected to fluctuate due to comebacks of major artists such as BLACKPINK in the second half of the third quarter, and we expect a noticeable improvement in earnings from the third quarter.”

Finally, Lee Hwa Jung, a researcher at NH Investment & Securities concluded: “Stock price continues to plummet due to the absence of major artists, but the investment is also growing more attractive as the time for growth is imminent.”
