YouTube users can enjoy Coachella through real-time streaming and access episodes on-site through YouTube shorts. Even after the festival, users can re-appreciate the performances in uploaded videos. YouTube will also provide shopping-only products, premium subscriber-only content, and real-time chats.

“It’s an absolute honor to continue our partnership with Goldenvoice to bring the magic of Coachella to music fans around the world,” said Lior Cohen, Global Head of Music at YouTube.

The Coachella Festival, beginning in 1999, is one of the most recognizable music festivals in North America. It takes place in Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert, California, United States. In the early days, rock musicians dominated participation but recently, musicians of various genres such as hip-hop, soul, and electronic have partaken on stage.

Coachella recently anounced BLACKPINK as the headliner (representative performer) for the April 15th and 22nd performances. BLACKPINK became the first K-pop girl group to enter Coachella in 2019 and will be on stage as a headliner after four years appearing in the music festival. Being Coachella headliners is an honor given to top artists such as Radiohead, Coldplay, Björk and Prince. This is also the first time for an Asian artist to be a headliner.

In addition, Jackson Wang of GOT7, DJ and producer Yaeji, as well as Live and Ian of the hip-hop crew DPR will appear at Coachella this year.
