In particular, the song was streamed 4.67 million times, while Jisoo’s artist page attracted over 330,000 followers within just one day. Both are the highest records for K-pop female solo artists.

Major foreign media outlets also praised Jisoo’s solo debut. UK’s prominent music magazine NME reported, “From the opening lines, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo makes her position clear on her debut solo single ‘Flower’”, adding, “Although she mixes entomological and botanical metaphors in the verses, the lyrics are poetic enough and get her point across.”

The magazine also continued, “Instrumentally, ‘Flower’ is unpredictable in the best way, managing to mix elegance with inventiveness and elements of modern production with more traditional sounding sonics; a gentle thrill ride through one of the best K-pop songs of the year so far.”

At the same time, Billboard commented that Jisoo has proven her capabilities as a solo artist with her solo album “ME”, while Rolling Stone praised, “With “Flower” as her launching pad, the whole world will be paying attention to Jisoo’s future moves”.
