Actor Bae Yong-joon‘s website, which had been maintained for nearly 20 years, has been put up for sale.
While the veteran actor has suspended activities for more than a decade, Bae Yong-joon has not put out an official announcement of retirement. Nevertheless, this recent activity seems to signal the event approaching.
As of the 13th, there is no trace of Bae Yong-joon in the domain “byj.co.kr”, the domain to his official website and only a notice to tell potential buyers to “buy this domain”.
Since the drama “Winter Sonata” became a landmark in actor Bae’s career in Japan in 2004, Yong-joon has used this site to interact and communicate with fans from Korea and Japan. At the peak of his popularity, tens of thousands of users flocked to every new post so much the server often went down.
In light of the event, an industry official remarked, “This means no one manages Bae Yong-joon’s iconic website anymore. There is no core team of Bae Yong-joon’s management, and Bae Yong-joon is also not interested in external activities as a celebrity.”
Currently, Bae Yong-joon is known to be living in Hawaii with his wife, actress Park Soo-jin. Recently, Park Soo-jin was reported absent from Ayumi’s wedding, her fellow member in the former girl group Sugar. Other members of the groups Hwang Jung-eum and Hye-seung attended the wedding.
While her missing was raising suspicion, an official was quick to detail a possibility, “Bae Yong-joon and Park Soo-jin have already been living in Hawaii for several years. It was difficult for Park Soo-jin to return home and attend the wedding in light of the COVID-19 situation,” he said.

The actor also invested in figure maker company Blitzway in 2018. The company was launched by CEO Bae Sung-woong, a former manager of Bae Yong-joon and former CEO of KeyEast.
