K-Drama male leads who have a one-sided love for a long time

Apart from the type of cool male lead, many audiences are into male characters who spend years holding unrequited love for their women. 

Yoon Yoon Jae (Reply 1997)

Although the male lead of “Reply 1997” Yoon Yoon Jae (Seo In Guk) is not good at expressing his feelings but he is considerate and always shows up at the right time for his childhood friend Sung Si Won, whom he has a crush on for years.

As a drama from the Reply series, “Reply 1997” keeps the viewers waiting to see whether Yoon Yoon Jae wins the heart of Sung Si Won until the end. Luckily, his unrequited love finally has a happy ending.

Choi Taek (Reply 1988)

Choi Taek (Park Bo Gum) is a Baduk genius. He has a pure-hearted character and doesn’t talk much. However, he shows a very different side in love. Seo Woo Jin (Ahn Hyo Seop) appears to be cold and quiet, but he’s also very affectionate. He is not the type to say cheesy things. but Seo Woo Jin is always there for Cha Eun Jae to listen to her, comfort, encourage, and take care of her when she needs him. Eventually, Seo Woo Jin’s feelings are reciprocated by Cha Eun Jae. 

Jung Yi Hyun (Happiness)

Jung Yi Hyun (Park Hyung Sik), a smart and straightforward police officer, has always been in love with Yoon Sae Bom. The two used to be high school friends and later meet again to deal with a deadly crisis together. Yi Hyun always silently protects Sae Bom, and he is happy he gets to do that regardless of whether she is aware of his feelings or not. In the end, they share a sweet kiss and finally take their relationship up a notch, from friends to lovers.
