Before the recently aired “Gyeongseong Creature”, Han So-hee drew a lot of attention on the Netflix original “My Name”. However, while this series is considered to be one of the actress’ breakthrough works in terms of acting performance, it also draws a lot of controversy due to one particular detail – the sex scene.
In particular, many audiences find the sex scene of Han So-hee and Ahn Bo-hyun in “My Name” to be out of place, especially against the drama’s grim nature,
On top of this, the fact that Han So-hee revealed she only found out about the scene during the shoot frustrated a lot of audiences, who left comments such as “Shouldn’t the cast know about the bed scene in advance when signing the contract?” and “It wouldn’t have been easy for the actor to refuse.”
However, Ahn Bo-hyun showed a different reaction. In particular, in an online interview with Insight, the actor said, “As I saw opinions being divided about that scene, I thought, there are many ways to interpret it. Since both Pil-do and Ji-woo were in pain, I believed it would be nice if they could comfort each other.”
“(The sex scene) showed the process of Ji-woo, who was a monster, changing thanks to Pil-do. I think the feelings the love scene gave me greatly came from that aspect”, the actor also added.
According to Ahn Bo-hyun, he also discussed with the director, screenwriter, and Han So-hee a lot of the scene before filming, and decided to go along with the director’s emotions rather than feeling pressured.
