Actresses Who Dreamed Of Becoming A Flight Attendant At First: Pyo Ye-jin, Jo Bo-ah & Seo Hyun-jin
Many viewers may not know the fact that actress Pyo Ye-jin used to be a flight attendant before she started acting
Pyo Ye-jin won a competition with a fierce rate of 1:100 and became the youngest flight attendant of Korean Air at the age of 19. She joined the airline right after graduating from high school. However, Pyo Ye-jin quit her job as a flight attendant in 2011 after working for one and a half years because she realized that this job did not suit her. After that, she spent a year training to become an actress at JYP Entertainment.
Pyo Ye-jin made her acting debut in 2012 in MBC’s drama “Here Comes Mr. Oh”. During her debut days, she couldn’t find any agency so she changed her profile by herself and started taking on small roles. Since then, she has built up a solid filmography by starring in various dramas, such as KBS 2TV’s “Fight For My Way”, tvN’s “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim”, SBS’s “VIP”, etc.
The actress shared, “Actually, changing my job helped me find something that I enjoy and fits me better. It’s very interesting to work in this field and to create a goal with other people. I’m always excited to see the results. If there’s anything more interesting, I might quit. But wouldn’t I keep challenging new things and finding new experiences while being an actress?”.
In addition to Pyo Ye-jin, actress Jo Bo-ah also dreamed of becoming a flight attendant in the past and she even studied aviation at a university. However, she ended up becoming an actor as she couldn’t stop thinking about acting. Appearing on “Knowing Bros” in 2018, Jo Bo-ah confessed, “When I was young, I once dreamed of becoming a flight attendant and I studied English very hard”, adding “Fortunately, I got to play the role of a flight attendant in ‘The Man Living in Our House’. I decided to become an actress because I can experience various jobs through acting”.
In the case of Seo Hyun-jin, she debuted as a member of SM Entertainment’s group M.I.L.K at the age of 17 after a year of training. However, due to a member’s withdrawal and several circumstances, the group disbanded after only two years. After that, Seo Hyun-jin entered Dongduk Women’s University and had an ordinary college life as a student in the Department of Practical Music. While working part-time to get ready to become a flight attendant at the recommendation of her parents, Seo Hyun-jin was cast in the musical “Sound of Music” and eventually changed her path to acting.
Later, Seo Hyun-jin also showed off her flight attendant look in JTBC’s drama “Beauty Inside”. Back then, she acted as Han Se-gye, a top actress whose face changed once a month, and impressed viewers with her visual as an airline model.
