This September, K-dramas boasting splendid cast lineups and promising stories are expected to face fierce competition. Let’s take a look at 6 upcoming September K-dramas which already look fun and worth anticipating. 

1. tvN’s “Little Women”

tvN’s drama “Little Women”, which is scheduled to premiere on September 3, tells the story of three sisters who grew up in a poor but loving background. Their lives take a turn when they have to confront the richest and most powerful family in Korea.

Led by Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun, and Park Ji Hoo, who all have their own high-rated dramas and are known for their solid acting skills, their chemistry and synergy as a trio of sisters are heating up viewers’ expectations. 

In addition to the three leading actresses, talented actors such as Wi Ha Join, Uhm Ji Won, Um Ki Joon, Kim Mi Sook, Kang Hoon, and Jeon Chae Eun also joined the cast to enhance the quality of the drama.

2. Netflix’s “Narco-Saints”

Netflix original series “Narco-Saints”, which is already gathering great expectations because its cast filled with talented actors, will hit the streaming platform on September 9th.

“Narco-Saints” depicts the story of a civilian who is falsely accused of being a drug lord who has taken control of Suriname, a South American country, accepting a secret mission from the National Intelligence Service.

Trustworthy actors Ha Jung Woo, Hwang Jung Min, Park Hae Soo, Jo Woo Jin, and Yoo Yeon Seok are expected to build a solid narrative with their awesome acting and chemistry. 

In addition to the colorful cast lineup, director Yoon Jong Bin, who directed crime thriller movies such as “Nameless Gangster: Rules Of The Time”, “A Violent Prosecutor” and “The Berlin File”, being in charge of directing “Narco-Saints” has further amplified expectations.

3. tvN’s “Mental Coach Jegal”

tvN’s upcoming sports-themed drama “Mental Coach Jegal” is scheduled to air its 1st episode on September 12.

“Mental Coach Jegal” tells the story of a former national taekwondo team member returning as a “mental coach”, whose job is to heal players and fight against injustice.

Actress Lee Yoo Mi, who earned her big break through Netflix’s hit series “Squid Game” and “All Of Us Are Dead” will take on her first lead role in “Mental Coach Jegal”, drawing great interest. Actor Jung Woo will act alongside Lee Yoo Mi. Viewers are curious about the fresh combination of the two.

4. tvN’s “Blind”

The tvN drama “Blind” is coming to viewers with its pilot episode hitting the screen on September 16.

“Blind” depicts the story of ordinary citizens who became unfair victims and the perpetrators who closed their eyes to the uncomfortable truth.

Actors Jung Eun Ji, Ok Taec Yeon, and Ha Seok Jin have taken on the lead roles, and immersive still cuts have already been released, drawing attention.

5. tvN’s “Love in Contract”

Another tvN drama, “Love in Contract” (also known as “MonWedFriTuesThursSat”), will be broadcasted for the first time on September 21.

“Love in Contract” revolves around Choi Sang Eun, a “contract marriage master”, who helps those who declare their non-marriage mindset.

In this series, Choi Sang Eun, played by famous actress Park Min Young, will help her client by masquerading as their wives, showing an image that seems to have been perfect from birth.

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, Choi Sang Eun meets Jung Ji Ho (Go Kyung Pyo), a long-term mystery customer, and performs the contract marriage role. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, she works with Kang Hae Jin (Kim Jae Young), a superstar.

Park Min Young asked for a lot of interest in the drama, saying, “(My role in “Love in Contract”) may be unfamiliar, but I thought it was a job that could really exist in modern society.”

6. MBC’s “Golden Spoon”

The MBC drama “Golden Spoon”, which is a drama adaptation of the popular webtoon “Gold Spoon”, is set to premiere on September 23.

“Golden Spoon” follows the story of a child born in a poor family, who became an “acquired golden spoon” by changing his fate with a friend born in a rich family – all through a gold spoon that he accidentally found.

Actors Yook Sung Jae, Jung Chae Yeon, and Lee Jong Won will take on the lead roles, acting out the relationships between complex and subtle characters and delivering their unusual narratives.

In particular, explosive synergy is expected from the collaboration of director Song Hyun Wook, who is behind the successes of popular dramas “Beauty Inside” and “Another Miss Oh”, and rookie director Lee Han Jun.
