A Kpop girl group with only 1 popular member, ended up disbanding today (September 14th)

The girl group, who debuted in 2015, gave fans a last gift before disbandment.

DIA, a Kpop girl group which debuted in 2015, built their own fanbase with an innocent concept. Several group members appeared in the 2016 Mnet survival program and drew a lot of attention.

DIA will release a new song ‘Rooting For You’ on the 14th. This album is a fan song that DIA prepared for Aid (fandom name). It was originally scheduled to be released on the 15th, but it was then set to release on the 14th, the debut date, as a farewell gift for fans.

However, via this show, the member Jung Chaeyeon popularized the “ending fairy” with her stunning beauty, gained immense attention, and ended up debuting with project group I.O.I. As a result, she started to outshine the rest of DIA, and is even called the group’s only popular member.

The new album will feature two songs composed by member Ki Hee-hyun, “Rooting for You” and “A Bright Day.” DIA was scheduled to host a music broadcast once after the release of the song, but the entire stage became unclear as member Jung Chae-yeon suffered a collarbone fracture during the filming of MBC drama “Gold Spoon” and underwent emergency surgery on the 13th.

DIA, which debuted as a seven-member girl group in 2015, became popular by releasing “Somehow,” “My Friend’s Boyfriend,” “On That Road,” “Mr. Potter,” “Will You Date Me,” “Woo Woo,” and “I’ll Cover You.”

After frequent member changes, Eunice, Ki Hee-hyeon, Jeong Chae-yeon, Yebin, Eunchae, and Joo-eun were reorganized into a 6-member girl group and continued their activities.

In May, DIA abruptly announced the disbandment through her agency Pocket Doll Studio, saying, “After the album to be released in September, the members will go their separate ways.”

The members will expire their exclusive contracts with their agency in September and start their own activities.
