After girl group (G)I-DLE announced their comeback with a new album next month, the cover is drawing attention.
On Sep 14th, the agency Cube Entertainment released the album specifications along with the artwork of (G)I-DLE‘s 5th mini-album “I love” through official SNS channels.
With the album released in three versions, the front cover of the “X-file” version attracted some netizens’ attention.
A red “X” was drawn on the yellow background. On the right side, there was a prohibition sign along with the members’ names Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua.
Netizens showed various reactions such as “I don’t know what their intention is, so I’ll wait and see”, “I think they mentioned her secretly”, “Isn’t Soojin’s place left blank?”…
This comeback is the first comeback in 7 months since the release of the first full-length album “I NEVER DIE” on Mar 23rd.
Soojin is the same age as Soyeon. However, if you look at the order of notation, it follows the order of age, and Soojin’s name is supposed to be put in that place. The album’s artwork concept is also suspicious. The concept of this album’s artwork is inspired by the late American actress Marilyn Monroe.
Soojin mentioned Marilyn Monroe as her role model many times.Although fans are speculating whether this is a stepping stone for Soojin’s comeback, CUBE Entertainment and (G)I-DLE members have not made any position on this issue.
The 5th mini-album “I love” will be released on various music sites at 6 PM on Oct 17th.
