DIA will make one last comeback to celebrate their 7th anniversary before disbanding

7 years into their debut, DIA will disband after releasing their final single album.

On September 6th, DIA‘s agency PocketDol Studio announced that DIA would release a new single album titled “Rooting For You” on September 15th.

The cover image of “Rooting For You” has been released, raising fans’ expectations. It is in the form of a calendar, which shows DIA’s schedule, such as their debut date and first music broadcast date. Sincere messages hand-written by six DIA members were also included, touching fans’ hearts.

The members expressed their gratitude to fans through messages such as, “AIDs (DIA’s fandom name) made us shine”, “We’ve already been together for 7 years. Thank you so much for walking with us at the same speed anytime, anywhere.”

In addition, a tracklist was unveiled. Two new songs, “A bright day” and member Ki Hui Hyun’s self-composed song “Rooting for You”, will be released.

DIA plans to go on a music show once after the release of the album.

DIA debuted in September 2015. Since then, the members have been active in various individual activities in addition to group promotions.

In particular, in 2016, Ki Hui Hyeon and Jung Chae Yeon participated in Mnet’s survival show “Produce 101” as contestants. In the finale, Jung Chae Yeon was selected as a member of the project girl group IOI. Chae Yeon’s activities with IOI made it impossible for DIA to perform as a whole for a while.

In 2017, Yebin and Somyi appeared in KBS2’s idol resurrection program “Idol Rebooting Project: The Unit”. Yebin later debuted in the project girl group UNI.T formed through the show.

Over 3 years of operation, DIA has not yet received the salary from the company

In 2018, DIA received their 1st music show win 1066 days after debut with the title track “Woo Woo” of the fourth mini album “Summer Ade”.

However, since then, group activities have slowed down again. In the meantime, Jung Chae Yeon has established herself as an actress by starring in various dramas.

When the news of DIA’s disbandment spread, interest was also drawn to former member Eunjin. After leaving DIA in 2018, Eunjin debuted as a streamer (BJ) on Afreeca TV and continued to communicate with fans and netizens.

Eunjin even mentioned DIA directly during a live broadcast on Afreeca TV. When a viewer left a malicious comment to Eunjin saying, “DIA suffered damage because of you,” Eunjin expressed her displeasure by saying, “What kind of damage did DIA suffer? “I was the one who suffered.”

After Eunjin mentioned DIA, DIA made into the real-time search rankings on Korea’s portal site, drawing netizens’ attention.
