A JYP girl group Koreans still don’t know well even though it’s been 2 years since their debut 

Although they debuted under JYP, a Big3 company, the level of public recognition of this girl group is still vague.

As one of Korea’s three major entertainment companies, starting with Wonder Girls, JYP Entertainment has continued to produce successful girl groups including Miss A, TWICE, ITZY, and NMIXX. In December 2020, the 9-member girl group NiziU was launched.

But why is the name NiziU somewhat unfamiliar even though it’s been two years since their debut? This is because all NiziU members are Japanese, and it is a group that debuted in Japan first. In addition, there were many restrictions on NiziU’s activities due to their debut during the COVID-19 period.

NiziU topped the Oricon chart as soon as they debuted, while the MV for the group’s song “Make You Happy” surpassed 300 million views for the first time as a Japanese girl group.

In mid-December, NiziU held a concert at Kyocera Dome Osaka. They set the record for the shortest period of time for a Japanese female artist to enter a dome.

NiziU was born through Korean-style training in the first place. When there is no activity in Japan, all members live in a dorm in Korea. It is also known that NiziU’s promotions in Korea have also been discussed. 

NiziU, who has already been greatly loved in Japan, has announced a full-fledged promotion in Korea in 2023. Expectations are high on whether NiziU will be able to bring new vitality to the domestic music market, where girl groups such as IVE, LE SSERAFIM, and New Jeans are dominating the 4th generation of the idol industry.
