Billboard has officially released its list of the best songs of 2025, and it’s already igniting discussions across global social media. Unveiled during a livestream on December 10, the year-end rankings highlight the defining tracks and artists that shaped the musical landscape of 2025. While many expected familiar names, the results delivered surprises especially the glaring absence of Taylor Swift.

Topping the list is the unstoppable global smash Die With A Smile by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. What began as a slow-burning release quickly turned into a worldwide phenomenon, dominating charts from the U.S. to Europe and Asia. The collaboration between two of pop’s biggest icons achieved an impressive 8-week run at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100, alongside 3.2 billion streams on Spotify and 1.4 billion views on YouTube. This record-breaking performance makes its top placement indisputable.

Hot on its heels is luther, the sultry R&B–hip-hop duet from Kendrick Lamar and SZA. Released ahead of the Grand National Tour and iconic Super Bowl Halftime Show appearance, the song matched Die With A Smile’s 8-week reign atop the Hot 100. Its smooth vibe and irresistible rhythm earned massive acclaim and solidified its place in 2025’s music history.
Billie Eilish’s Birds Of A Feather took the No.5 spot. Riding the ongoing Wildflower wave, the track remained a fan favorite. Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso and Taste placed at 12 and 19, showcasing her growing influence despite fierce competition.

Rosé also earned a proud position at No.9 with her viral solo hit APT. The addictive “appateu appateu” chorus continues to echo across the globe, earning her accolades including Song of the Year at the VMAs. Representing K-pop once again, the virtual girl group Huntr/x landed a breakout hit with Golden, which held the No.1 Billboard Hot 100 spot for 8 weeks and triggered an unprecedented viral wave.

A surprising entry is Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan, a track originally released five years ago. Thanks to a viral resurgence on TikTok, the infectious tune has catapulted Roan into the elite ranks of the “Main Pop Girls” of the 2020s.
Rounding out the top 10 are familiar Billboard chart staples: A Bar Song (Tipsy) by Shaboozey, Lose Control by Teddy Swims, Beautiful Things by Benson Boone, Ordinary by Alex Warren, and I Had Some Help by Post Malone featuring Morgan Wallen. Notably missing from the top 20 is Taylor Swift, with neither The Tortured Poets Department nor The Life of a Showgirl making the cut.
