YG Paid Journalists To Write Bad Articles About Jennie’s Vaping Controversy?

Fans are blaming BLACKPINK Jennie’s former agency YG Entertainment for the female idol’s smoking controversy

During the past few weeks, BLACKPINK Jennie’s vaping and poor attitude controversies have been the talk of the town. Facing harsh criticism from netizens and the possibility of a fine, Jennie quickly issued an apology and reflected on her mistake.

However, some fans suspected that YG Entertainment had hired 3 journalists to write negative articles about Jennie’s vaping issue. As this suspicion spread in online communities and X (formerly Twitter), many Jennie fans pointed out YG’s mistreatment of the female idol.

The suspicion became a hot debate on social media. Some people believe that YG wanted to harm Jennie after she left the company. Several celebrities, such as Lee Seung-gi, Han Ye-seul, etc., also struggled with scandals and bad issues after leaving their former agencies.

However, the majority of netizens believe that Jennie fans’ blame on YG is unreasonable because they don’t have any evidence to prove the claim that YG paid journalists to write articles. Jennie is now the CEO of her own label ODD ATELIER (OA) so she must be responsible for not removing the vaping scene in her Vlog before uploading it on YouTube. The fact that Jennie fans are trying to defend their idol by blaming the editor, other idols, and even her former agency even affects Jennie’s image in the eyes of the public.

Jennie’s vaping controversy broke out on July 8th after the scene was spotted in her own Vlog video on YouTube. Jennie put something looking like an e-cigarette in her mouth while getting her makeup done before the Jacquemus show in Italy. In particular, the BLACKPINK member even blew smoke into the face of her makeup staff.

Jennie’s team deleted the controversial scene right after the controversy arose but it already aroused keen attention. In addition to indoor smoking, many criticized Jennie’s action as abuse of power. Even after OA released their official apology, the scandal didn’t cool down.
