Yook Sungjae Admits: ‘I Used to Love Being Recognized, But Now I Feel Shy’
Singer and actor Yook Sungjae was terrified by a surprise horror prank.
On the 13th, a video titled “Unboxing the Silver Button is Just an Excuse, Scaring Sungjae with a Prank Camera” was uploaded on the YouTube channel ‘YOOK SUNGJAE Official.’
In the video, Yook Sungjae was seen unboxing a Silver Button and getting startled by a horror prank set up by the production team.
Regarding his recent activities, Yook Sungjae said, “I’ve been having happy days. I’ve been going around for fan meetings abroad, which I’ve wanted to do, and I’m preparing for an upcoming shoot,” mentioning his preparation for the fantasy historical drama ‘Gyugung.’ He added, “Since it’s my first time preparing for a historical drama, I’ve been learning martial arts at an action school and taking acting lessons.”
Additionally, a scene was shown where Yook Sungjae, singing while watching a screen in his studio, was shocked and burst into laughter when he saw a ghostly makeup photo displayed by the production team. He exclaimed, “What is this!” and laughed, saying, “I was really startled. It looks so creepy.” He confessed, “I’m really weak with things like this. I’m scared of ghosts.”
During the Silver Button unboxing shoot, the production team pulled off a second surprise prank. Yook Sungjae mentioned, “I once gave the nickname ‘Ochils’ to my fans who liked me a long time ago. It means ‘five and seven surrounding six.’ Aren’t ‘Ochils’ cute?”
He continued, “In the past, I was really happy when fans recognized me on the street and said ‘thank you,’ but these days, I feel a bit shy. Am I becoming an introvert? I don’t want to become an INTP. Hyunsik is an INTP and likes to travel alone, eat alone, drink alone, and do things alone. I can never do that.”
As Yook Sungjae was joyfully unboxing the Silver Button, a production team member dressed as a ghost appeared suddenly, causing him to scream and run away in terror. He eventually left his seat, showing a nearly tearful face and saying, “I knew this would happen,” revealing his scared side. He later burst into laughter out of embarrassment, bringing a lot of amusement.
