According to KBS on May 28th, KBS held a broadcast appearance regulation review committee on May 13th and decided to suspend Oh Young-soo’s appearance on the channel. In February, KBS advised Oh Young-soo not to appear on the show “About Family” that he was starring in, but three months later, it was raised to a suspension.
Earlier, Oh Young-soo was sentenced to one year in prison in the first trial on charges of sexual harassment. Oh was indicted on charges of forcibly harassing a woman (A) in August 2017. At the time, he denied the allegation, but at a later final hearing, the prosecution asked the court to sentence Oh Young-soo to a year in prison for the reason that “the defendant distorted his desire for a young girl, saying, ‘I consider you a woman’ at a drinking party with the victim at the time in 2017.”
Singer Shin Hye-sung, a former member of the group Shinhwa, was booked on charges of refusing to take a breathalyzer test under the Road Traffic Act at Tancheon Bridge 2 in Songpa-gu, Seoul, in October 2022. The police confirmed that Shin Hye-sung was in the middle of the road in Songpa-gu, Seoul, and tried to make him take a breathalyzer test, but he refused, so they arrested him. Earlier, Shin Hye-sung had a history of being punished for drunk driving once in the past. In April last year, the court sentenced Shin Hye-sung to six months in prison and one year of probation. Later, on August 4 last year, KBS changed its temporary restriction on appearance of Shin Hye-sung to a suspension.
Then, on an episode of KBS 2TV’s “Mr. House Husband Season 2,” which aired on August 26 of the same year, Shin Hye-sung’s image was mosaic-processed. In the broadcast, a music video of Shinhwa appeared as a material scene, and the image of Shin Hye-sung in the video was also mosaic-processed.
Kim Sae-ron, a former child actress, was also suspended from appearing on TV by KBS. On May 18, 2022, Kim Sae-ron was arrested by police on charges of hitting street trees and facilities several times while driving under the influence of alcohol near Hakdong Intersection in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. At the time, Kim Sae-ron requested a blood test instead of measuring the blood alcohol level at the scene. Kim’s blood alcohol concentration was confirmed to be 0.2%, which exceeds the license cancellation value (0.08%). Kim Sae-run was charged with violating the Road Traffic Act and sentenced to a fine of 20 million won in the first trial in April last year. The fine was confirmed when she gave up her appeal.
In addition, composer Don Spike, actor Ha Jung-woo, and former iKON member B.I. were also suspended from appearing on KBS on December 21, 2022.
