’58th Grand Bell Awards’ Park Hae-il won 3 awards with ‘Decision to Break Up’

The movie “Decision to Break Up” won the best film award at the 58th Daejong Film Festival.

On the 9th at 6pm, the ’58th Grand Bell Awards Film Festival’ (hereafter referred to as the ‘Grand Bell Awards Film Festival’) was held at the New Millennium Hall of Konkuk University in Seoul. The awards ceremony was broadcast live on ENA and hosted by pop columnist Kim Tae-hoon and HuffPost Korea editor-in-chief Kang Na-yeon.

The honor of Best Picture went to director Park Chan-wook‘s film ‘Decision to Break Up‘. On this day, ‘Decision to Break Up’ achieved the feat of winning three awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Screenplay. Director Park Chan-wook, who is filming abroad, conveyed his impressions through a voice message, saying: “I feel like I’m receiving a big gift at the end of the year, I think it’ll remain an unforgettable memory. I think of Park Hae-il and Tang Wei.”

Decision to Leave

Director Byun Seong-hyeon of ‘Kingmaker’ was called for the Best Director Award. Director Byun Seong-hyun gave a short and bold impression, saying, “Thank you to Lee Sun-kyun, the best actor award in my heart.”

The best actress award went to Yeom Jung-ah of ‘Life is Beautiful’. Yum Jeong-ah expressed her gratitude to the production crew and actors, saying, “‘Life is Beautiful’ was a work that gave me so much happiness throughout the filming and presentation.” Then, Yeom Jung-ah said, “Thank you to the audience and fans who supported and loved me. I will share this joy with my loving family and agency officials who always support me, especially my manager.”

Park Hae-il of ‘Decision to Break Up’, who won the Best Actor Award, expressed his gratitude to the production team and actors who were with him, saying, “It is a great honor to receive this award again after a long time at the 58th Grand Bell Awards, which boasts history and tradition.” Park Hae-il said, “Personally, as an actor, curiosity was the biggest driving force for me. I will not lose my curiosity and continue to move forward even if I fail.”

The male and female rookie awards went to Mu Jin-seong of ‘Perhaps Love’ and Kim Hye-yoon of ‘The Girl on a Bulldozer’, while Byun Yo-han of Hansan: Rising Dragon’ and Lim Yoon-ah of ‘Cooperation 2: International’ were named as the male and female supporting actors.
