The CEO herself said to have felt a “synchronization” with Hye-in herself.
New Jeans is the current hit group with a debut song “Hype Boy” under their sleeves hitting 100 million streaming of Spotify in about three months since its drop in July. The group is quickly expanding their activities by announcing an exclusive fan communication app “Phoning” and their next single album “OMG” with the special winter track to be released on January 2nd next year.
The mastermind behind NewJeans and their success is ADOR’s CEO Min Hee-Jin, overseeing the production to the point NewJeans is called “Min Hee-jin Girl Group”.
Min Hee-jin previously worked as an SM art director creating concepts for SM idol groups, namely Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO, Red Velvet, and NCT. During her appearance on “You Quiz on the Block”, Min Hee-jin had confidence in NewJeans’ debut to be “a new sensation”.
When asked of the members, Hee-jin mentioned Hye-in after debut with NewJeans, “The youngest member [Hye-in] is a cool and sophisticated person. She is talented with many hidden tricks up her sleeves. Despite her young age, she has both a profound aspect to her innocence.”
Min Hee-jin also invited Hye-in and other members to her house to talk about the group’s direction. In recalling the event, she revealed Hye-in’s reaction, “She listened to the song I was playing and noted down nonstop while saying the melody was really good. I felt a strange synchronization across generational differences.”
Hye-in is a former child model and a member of the first-generation kids’ idol group “U.SSO Girl” in 2017, appeared on the kids’ YouTube channel “Pocket TV” as a member of “Play With Me Club” for about two years until 2021, and has worked as a part of EBS children’s show “Tok! Tok! Boni Hani.”
Hye-in, who made her debut relatively early, said that she had not attended school after she became a trainee, entered middle school with a qualification exam, and was the last to join NewJeans.
