Yoo Jae-seok confessed his struggle with being a celebrity in the past (Yoo Quiz on the Block)
MC Yoo Jae-seok talked about his experience of living under the pressure of “having to develop every time”.
MC Yoo Jae-seok shared talks with guest Lee Hye-ri on tvN’s entertainment program “Yoo Quiz on the Block”, which aired on October 19th, about the question “Do you think the job of being a celebrity is a vocation for you?”.
On this broadcast, Lee Hye-ri confessed that she believed being a celebrity is her vocation. She said, “I’m not a person with lots of ambitions, so I love this job as I keep getting missions to do. I think I’m staying still in one place, but I will get through this one day”, expressing her positive attitude.
Yoo Jae-seok confessed, “Staying in one place is already a great thing”, adding “If you look around in this entertainment world, you’ll find people say ‘Yoo Jae-seok is also staying still’. In fact, what I’m doing right now is already hard. I’m trying my best and it’s not easy for me to keep my place. But I really wondered, ‘Do I have to live the life in which I have to develop every time, every month, every year?’”.
He continued, “As I think about it over time, from my point of view, it was very hard for me to stay in my place”, adding “On the other, I became satisfied with the fact that I was staying still in one place. If I didn’t I might not have been here until today.”
In addition, Yoo Jae-seok said, “I really want to say this to you. If you rush just because you don’t move on, you will only hurt yourself. Of course, who doesn’t want to move forward? But things don’t always happen the way we want. We need to be a little generous to ourselves”, giving sincere advice.
In response, Lee Hye-ri said, “It’s a little different in my case. Aren’t you still the No.1 even if you stay still in one place? If you’re already the No.1, you just need to stay still, don’t you?”, drawing laughter.
