Yoo Ah In’s acquaintance attends police investigation with AirPods and e-cigarettes, netizens pour criticism

Author A, an acquaintance of ‘drug suspect’ actor Yoo Ah In (real name Uhm Hong Sik), attended the police investigation.

At around 11 a.m. on May 16th, Yoo Ah In’s acquaintance A was summoned as a suspect at the Mapo Office of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. A is known to have accompanied Yoo Ah In on his travel to the U.S.

Netizens criticized A’s appearance at the police station, saying “I’ve seen many photos of people attending police investigation, but this is the first time I’ve seen someone bringing AirPods Max and e-cigarettes along”.

Earlier, Yoo Ah In and four acquaintances were booked as soon as they returned to Korea from their U.S. trip in February on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act. The police summoned the four acquaintances as witnesses at the beginning of the investigation, but later changed their status to suspects after confirming that they helped Yoo Ah In take drugs or committed the crime themselves.

A is well known among Yoo Ah In’s fans as he has shown off his close friendship with the actor through his personal SNS account many times.

Meanwhile, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Drug Crime Investigation Unit plans to investigate the types and number of drugs Yoo Ah In administered as well as his purchase history and accomplices at the second summon today.

In February, the National Forensic Service notified the police of the forensic results that four types of narcotics, including marijuana, propofol, cocaine and ketamine, were detected in Yoo Ah In’s hair and urine. The police later confirmed that Zolpidem, a psychotropic drug, was also prescribed in Yoo Ah In’s medical records for non-medical purposes.

The police plan to conclude the investigation into Yoo Ah In soon. A police official explained, “Some of the charges and accomplice investigations have almost been completed.”
