Yoasobi To Appear At NewJeans’s Japanese Fanmeeting As Guest

Japanese duo Yoasobi will reunite with K-pop girl group NewJeans at the group’s upcoming fanmeeting in Japan

On March 30th, NewJeans uploaded on their SNS account a poster for their fanmeeting at Tokyo Dome in Japan to be held in June. Accordingly, Japanese singers Yoasobi and Rina Sawayama will appear as special guests on the 26th and 27th of June.

In response to the big news, fans poured positive reactions, such as “NewJeans is already a big name and now even their guests are amazing. They will attract so many fans”, “Is it really a fanmeeting? If they sing and invite guests, isn’t it like a concert? I want to go there”, etc.

In particular, NewJeans will perform 12 songs and 4 new songs at their fanmeeting. The group is also preparing special solo songs to diversify the setlist of their fanmeeting.

NewJeans will make their debut on June 21st. However, they already made a special appearance at last year’s Japanese year-end music festival “Kōhaku Uta Gassen”. As they are gaining huge popularity in Japan, NewJeans will enter Tokyo Dome, which is considered one of the symbols of the Japanese pop music industry, through this fanmeeting. Expectations are high for NewJeans’s activities after making their official Japan debut and completing their Japanese fanmeeting.

Meanwhile,  Yoasobi is a duo. Last year, they sang the opening theme song “Idol” for the Japanese anime series “Oshi no Ko” and became famous worldwide.

Yoasobi and NewJeans performed together for a joint stage of “Idol” at “Kōhaku Uta Gassen” last year. In January, the duo and NewJeans met again in a Japanese documentary. At that time, NHK introduced NewJeans and Yoasobi as groups leading the new generations of K-pop and J-pop, respectively.
