YG responds to rumors of G-Dragon leaving the company

YG Entertainment has denied the rumors of BIGBANG G-Dragon’s departure.

On June 5th, YG stated through TV Report, “G-Dragon is still with our agency. He has been on a long hiatus due to the operational system.”

Earlier, YG released its quarterly report (2023.03) through the Electronic Disclosure System (DART). The report included a list of YG-affiliated artists such as BLACKPINK, AKMU, and WINNER, but G-Dragon‘s name was not found.

Some netizens speculated, “Isn’t G-Dragon not renewing his contract with YG?” and “Is BIGBANG really disappearing like this?

Currently, G-Dragon is the only remaining member of BIGBANG in YG. The youngest member, Seungri, left in 2018, and T.O.P’s exclusive contract expired last year after BIGBANG’s digital single “Still Life” was released. Daesung has also found a new agency.

In January, G-Dragon revealed through his official YouTube account, “I plan to meet you through various activities this year. I’m also preparing an album.”
