On January 18th, Kang Seung-yoon posted on his Instagram account a picture of him wearing a military uniform and smiling brightly while holding the commendations he received while serving in the military.
Kang Seung-yoon enlisted as an active-duty soldier on June 20th last year. The WINNER member drew attention as he was seen participating in various military events while fulfilling his duty.
During the time Kang Seung-yoon was receiving basic training, BTS’s Jin visited the training center as an assistant and the two took a picture, showing off their chemistry as senior and junior. Kang Seung-yoon also boasted about his shooting skills during the training period, saying “I’m an excellent shooter, and I’ve been serving well”.
Kang Seung-yoon has continued his exemplary military life by donating to flood victims and receiving commendations for excellent trainees. He even received Outstanding Soldier Award in a Writing Contest.
In November last year, he shared his whereabouts, saying “I’ve been busy these days”, and in December, he said, “I’ll be promoted two months early and become a corporal next month. I’ll greet you guys as a corporal in the new year”.
Kang Seung-yoon added, “I’m going to write some songs even in the military. My goal is to make more than 10 songs this year”, raising fans’ expectations.
Meanwhile, WINNER’s Kim Jin-woo and Lee Seung-hoon already completed military service, while Song Min-ho is doing alternative service. Kang Seung-yoon was the last member to enlist and his discharge date is scheduled to be December 19th this year.
