Actress Kang Mina (former I.O.I and Gugudan member) heralded a new start after leaving Jellyfish, where she had worked for a long time.
According to Jellyfish on June 15th, Kang Mina’s exclusive contract will expire at the end of June. However, both sides agreed that there will be no contract renewal.
As the exclusive contract is going to end, Kang Mina will be in the FA market. Kang Mina recently had a meeting with Story J Company, which includes Kim Tae Hee, Seo In Guk and Oh Yeon Seo. Story J Company said, “We had a meeting with Kang Mina, but nothing has been decided yet.“
If Kang Mina joins hands with Story J Company, she will “live under the same roof” with Seo In Guk, whom she previously collaborated with through the drama “Café Minamdang”. The two attracted attention by boasting a chemistry like real siblings throughout the airing of “Café Minamdang”.
Kang Mina appeared on Mnet’s “Produce 101 Season 1” (2016) and successfully made her debut as a member of project group I.O.I. At the same time, she debuted and promoted with Jellyfish’s girl group Gugudan.
Gugudan was officially disbanded in 2020, and since then, Kang Mina has been walking on the path of an actress in earnest. Starting with the drama “Children of the 20th Century”, she played supporting roles in “Tale of Fairy” and “Hotel del Luna”. She became a lead actress through “Café Minamdang” and “Moonshine”.
