Wanna One’s plan to release the new song “Beautiful 3” is on the verge of failure due to unsettled contract with some members
After CJ ENM announced that Wanna One’s new song would be released on January 27th, the members’ contracts cannot be finalized a week before the song comes out.
Project boy group Wanna One‘s plan to release a new song is in crisis. Although it is only a week ahead of the previously announced release date, it has been confirmed that the members’ contract procedures for the release of the song have not been completed.
According to industry insiders on January 20th, CJ ENM has not signed a contract with some of the 11 Wanna One members (Kang Daniel, Park Ji-hoon, Lee Dae-hwi, Kim Jae-hwan, Ong Seong-woo, Park Woo-jin, Lai Kuan-lin, Yoon Ji-sung, Hwang Min-hyun, Bae Jin-young, and Ha Sung-woon) regarding the release of the new song ‘Beautiful’.
‘Beautiful Part 3‘ is a new song sung by former Wanna One members after 3 years. It is also a song that connects ‘Beautiful‘ and ‘Beautiful Part 2‘, which were released back when Wanna One was actively promoting.
Wanna One unveiled “Beautiful Part 3” for the first time at CJ ENM‘s music awards ceremony 2021 MAMA on December 11th of last year.
A new song was recorded for the performance, but it has not been released since the awards ceremony ended. Meanwhile, CJ ENM recently announced officially that the song “Beautiful Part 3” would be released on January 27th, drawing keen attention from fans. January 27th is a really meaningful date to fans because it was actually when Wanna One ended their official activities.
However, if the contract cannot be signed by all members, the plan to release the song will have to be canceled. CJ ENM announced that they would release the song on the exact date, but it seems like their announcement was a bit hasty. If the contract is not completed on time, there is still a possibility that the release date of “Beautiful Part 3” will be delayed or canceled.
In this regard, CJ ENM released their statement, saying, “We have made an oral agreement on the release of the song. However, only administrative procedures remain”. They added, “In order to establish a proper process, we are currently inspecting it based on our compliance standards and will actively take supplementary measures if necessary”.
Wanna One is a project boy group formed through Mnet’s idol survival program “Produce 101 Season 2”. After carrying out activities for about one and a half years, the group disbanded in January 2019. 11 members returned to their respective agencies and continued their own activities.
