According to a report by Women’s News on October 17, Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Soo-jin obtained records from the Ministry of Health and Welfare detailing W Korea’s cumulative donations to the Korean Breast Health Foundation.
The data shows that between 2007 and November 2025, W Korea donated a total of 315.69 million KRW — significantly lower than the 1.1 billion KRW the magazine previously claimed.

From 2017 to 2023, there were no recorded donations, though last year saw a contribution of 125.3 million KRW. While the value of charitable donations cannot be measured solely by amount, the discrepancy has raised questions about transparency.
The October 15 event, held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Jongno, Seoul, featured celebrity appearances and performances that critics argue were unrelated to breast cancer awareness. Official social media posts highlighted champagne toasts and party scenes, rather than meaningful awareness campaigns.
One notable performance by Jay Park included the song “MOMMAE,” which features explicit lyrics referencing physical appearance — a selection widely criticized for being inappropriate given the campaign’s breast cancer awareness focus.

Online, netizens expressed disappointment over the lack of transparency in W Korea’s donation structure, noting that other recipients beyond the Korean Breast Health Foundation were not disclosed. The inconsistencies between claimed donation amounts and actual figures further eroded public trust.
Families and individuals affected by breast cancer reportedly felt alienated, as the celebratory nature of the event overshadowed the awareness message, leaving some viewers emotionally distressed.
Despite mounting criticism, W Korea has remained silent, leaving posts and videos of the event publicly accessible, fueling further backlash.
