Video Of NewJeans Members’ Fight On Livestream Gains Over 3 Million Views
Amid the HYBE and Min Hee-jin’s intensifying dispute, every move of ADOR’s girl group NewJeans also arouses attention
Celebrating the 20th birthday of the oldest member Minji on May 7th, NewJeans gathered and turned on a live broadcast to communicate with fans.
During the livestream, Minji suddenly reached out to get a balloon as she wanted to try changing her voice with the helium to sound like Chipmunk. Noticing that, Hanni immediately prevented Minji from taking the balloon, saying “No, don’t do it. Kim Min-ji, take your hands off”.
However, Minji insisted on playing with the balloon because it was her birthday. Since Minji did not listen to her, Hanni sulked, saying “Okay, I won’t care if you get dizzy”. Watching the two fight over the balloon, other members burst out laughing.
This small “fight” between the two friends spread on social media and became viral. The most-watched videos of this scene on TikTok and X (formerly Twitter) already gained 3 million views. In response, netizens believed that Hanni was just worried that the helium in the balloon might affect Minji’s health. Some commented, “Hanni was worried that Minji might get a headache if she played with the helium!”, “I thought they would fight for real”, “Hanni looked so serious because she cared for her friend”, etc.
Despite the serious conflict between HYBE and ADOR’s CEO Min Hee-jin, NewJeans will proceed with their comeback as scheduled. The girl group plans to release a double single on May 24th. Sadly, the youngest member Hyein cannot participate in this comeback promotion due to her injury.
