The question of what happens to all the food eaten by mukbang star Tzuyang has once again sparked curiosity after her appearance on JTBC’s new program Science Students’ Counseling Club – Solving It Bit by Bit, which aired on December 24 and featured Choi Hong-man and Tzuyang as guests.
Tzuyang appeared on the show to discuss her concern about feeling hungry almost constantly. She shared that although her health checkups showed no abnormalities, doctors told her that her stomach is larger than average and that her intestinal activity appears to be very active.

Senior astronomy student Ji Woong-bae raised a blunt but curious question, saying, “If there’s input, there must be output. I’m curious not only about the condition, but also the amount.” In response, Tzuyang openly acknowledged the long-rumored claim that she flushes the toilet seven times, explaining that when she uses restrooms at highway service areas, she really does flush around that many times. Ji Woong-bae commented that if such a large amount of food is consumed and expelled, it makes sense that her body mass remains stable.
Choi Hong-man then surprised everyone by sharing his own experience, saying he once experimented out of curiosity. “When I feel the urge a little, it’s about 1.5 liters. When it’s stronger, around 2 liters. When it feels unbearable, it’s about 2.5 liters,” he revealed, leaving the studio stunned.
Tzuyang also shared an unexpected detail about her body temperature. “I didn’t realize it myself, but my friend told me that I’m extremely hot when I sleep—so hot that you can feel the heat coming off me,” she said, adding that she usually wakes up feeling refreshed and never noticed it herself.

Cultural physics senior Park Joo-yong offered a scientific explanation, saying that when people eat food, the body stores energy like a battery. This energy maintains body temperature and powers movement through ATP molecules. As ATP breaks down, energy is released—about 20 percent goes into muscle movement, while roughly 80 percent becomes heat energy. That is why body temperature rises during exercise. He explained that if someone eats a lot and generates a lot of heat, it means their body is producing more thermal energy. In theory, when ATP breaks down, around 90 percent becomes heat, meaning that to perform the same activity, Tzuyang could be consuming up to 20 times more food than an average person.
The revelations once again highlighted the unique physiology behind Tzuyang’s extraordinary eating capacity, leaving viewers both amused and fascinated by the science behind her mukbang lifestyle.
