On the August 2 episode of MBC’s variety show The Manager (Ep. 358), a preview segment teased an upcoming guest appearance by mukbang YouTuber Tzuyang, who boasts over 12.2 million subscribers.
In the teaser, Tzuyang showcased her well-known “big eater” persona by mixing and eating rice from a massive basin as early as 8 a.m. Her home even features a snack pantry rivaling a convenience store. The amount of food stored was so overwhelming that the shelves began to bend under the weight.
Her manager shared, “Back in her first year of high school, Tzuyang ate bread every four hours and always had big portions at school lunch.”
The show also highlighted the deep bond between Tzuyang and her manager. Tzuyang credited her manager for helping her stay positive during difficult times. Holding back tears, the manager said, “We didn’t even leave the house. It was too much to handle… If I hadn’t been there, it would’ve been unbearable.” Tzuyang added, “Even now, I can’t find the words,” hinting at a deeper story yet to be told.
Previously, in July of last year, Tzuyang revealed on her YouTube channel that her former boyfriend and agency CEO, identified as Mr. A, had subjected her to four years of verbal abuse, assault, and threats, while extorting ₩4 billion (approx. $3 million USD). Mr. A passed away while under criminal investigation, leading to the case being dismissed due to lack of prosecutorial jurisdiction.
Additionally, Tzuyang was also a victim of a separate case involving members of the so-called “Wreck Car Union” — a group of cyber YouTubers who blackmailed her over her past. Those involved were later sentenced to prison.
