At the meeting after the Emmys held in Seoul on the same day, director Hwang Dong Hyuk said, “Overseas actors said they really like ‘Squid Game’. Leonardo DiCaprio said he was a big fan of ‘Squid Game’, so I thought about contacting him. I don’t remember him specifically saying ‘I want to appear’ but he showed a lot of love to the series.”

Leonardo DiCaprio also drew attention when he took photos with “Squid Game” star Lee Jung Jae at the LACMA Art + Film Gala last year.

However, it will be difficult to expect foreign famous actors to appear in Season 2 of “Squid Game”. Director Hwang said, “I have no plans for foreign actors to appear in season 2. I don’t know if the cast will change in season 3, but the cast of season 2 is also Korean.”
