Hwang Kwang Hee gained explosive reactions and compliments for his cameo performance in Netflix’s original series “The Glory”.
Netflix series “The Glory”, which is writer Kim Eun Sook’s first revenge play, has maintained its No.1 spot for two consecutive weeks.
According to the result of OTT popularity survey announced by Good Data Corporation on January 9th, “The Glory” ranked 1st with 73.5% among a total of 14 OTT works. It is 10 times higher than the No.2 drama TVing’s “Island”.
“The Glory” tells about the desperate revenge that Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo), whose soul was broken due to experience of school violence during her childhood, has spent her whole life preparing, and those who fall into the whirlwind of that revenge plan.
The perfect combination of the cast’s stable acting skills and the well-developed storyline that increases immersion and makes viewers want to watch all episodes at once received favorable reviews.
Making a surprise cameo appearance, Hwang Kwang Hee also played an important role and contributed to the success of the drama.
In “The Glory”, Hwang Kwang Hee appeared as the person who worked with weather forecaster Park Yeon Jin (Lim Ji Yeon) on a radio show. Despite wearing a comfortable hoodie and a headset, he caught the eyes of the audience with bright and handsome visual.
Hwang Kwang Hee, who used to be a DJ for SBS’s PowerFM radio show “Kwang Hee & Ye Won’s Young Street”, showed his natural acting as a radio host in “The Glory”.
In response to Hwang Kwang Hee’s cameo appearance, fans praised his actor-like facial expressions and ways of saying the lines. They commented, “We met Kwang Hee again”, “He did well and did not fall short even when acting alongside actress Lim Ji Yeon”, etc.
Meanwhile, “The Glory” Part 2, which contains Song Hye Kyo’s full-fledged revenge, will premiere in March.
