The YouTuber IU shout out = Jo Jung-suk? The number of subscribers surged in an instant

Singer-actress IU has sparked interest in the identity of a mysterious YouTuber, with many speculating that the YouTuber is none other than actor Jo Jung-suk

On the night of Feb 15th, IU shared a post on her SNS, saying “It feels like a cozy cotton comforter… Thank you for the wonderful cover, Cheonggyesan Puppy Records. Love wins all ♥” along with a video of a YouTuber.

In the video, the YouTuber, going by the name “Cheonggyesan Puppy Records”, is seen sitting on a bed in a hoodie and sweatpants, playing the guitar and singing IU’s new song “Love wins all” with a sweet voice. The YouTuber added subtitles, saying, “As a fan of IU, I tried playing the guitar and singing directly like this. I hope you enjoy my cover video… I’ll upload more fun videos in the future.”

Afterwards, attention turned to the identity of Cheonggyesan Puppy Records, who appeared with their face covered. Netizens speculated that the YouTuber could be actor Jo Jung-suk, noting the similarity in voice and suggesting that the guitar they were holding might have been a gift custom-made by Jo Jung-suk’s fans.

This sparked interest in the YouTuber’s previous videos as well. Cheonggyesan Puppy Records posted their first video on Jan 27th, titled “[AI Jo Jung-suk] Gummy’s husband singing Gummy’s ‘Please Forget Me'”. They explained, “AI covers have been popular lately. I tried making it in the version of actor Jo Jung-suk, whom I really like. It’s my first time, so please enjoy it even if it’s lacking^^ #JoJungSuk #Gummy #PleaseForgetMe #AI #AICover.

Although Cheonggyesan Puppy Records mentioned it was an AI cover, netizens believed it was a direct vocal performance due to various ad-libs. Comments targeting Jo Jung-suk include, “Hey, you can do YouTube too“, “Your voice seems like it could sing ‘Aloha’ well, even if I don’t know who you are“, “Even if you try to hide it, your voice can’t be hidden“…

Meanwhile, IU and Jo Jung-suk built a friendship after appearing together in KBS 2TV’s weekend drama “You Are the Best!” in 2013.
