The video of a blonde woman who disappeared like wind after crashing with IU’s shoulders… Rapidly spreading online

A video showing singer-actress IU (Lee Ji-eun) getting attacked by another’s shoulders caused controversy.

On May 27th, a post titled “The woman who crashed with IU’s shoulders” was uploaded on Internet communities such as FM Korea, Bobae Dream and Ppomppu, drawing attention.

A video was attached to the post. This is a video of the red carpet event at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival held this morning (KST).

The video showed a blonde woman clashing hard on the shoulders of IU, who was standing hesitantly on one side of the venue. When the woman left her position without apologizing at all, IU looked embarrassed and tried to smile.

Netizens who watched the video immediately set out to find the woman in the video. Afterwards, the person was identified as a French beauty influencer named Maria Travel.

As protest DMs from Korean and foreign netizens poured out, the woman said on her Instagram story, “I’m not good at English, but I’ll do my best to speak. I want to apologize for what happened on the red carpet today. I want to apologize to Korean actress Lee Ji-eun. It was my mistake to push her. I sincerely apologize.”

Members of the community MLB Park responded by commenting, “I think she did it on purpose”, “If it was a mistake, Westerners would apologize right away”, “She intentionally hit an Asian, but she seems to have come to her senses after seeing the number of IU’s followers” and “It’s definitely racism.”
