Hahoe mask + red jumpsuit… “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area”, main poster released

The main poster of “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” was released, revealing the meaning behind Hahoe mask and jumpsuit (icons of the robber gang).

The main poster of Netflix’s series “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” was released. “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” depicts a hostage crisis situation set in the Korean Peninsula, involving a genius strategist and people with different personalities and abilities.

In the poster, robbers are gathering in the lobby of the Unified Korea Mint. The dignity of 8 robbers standing on the stairs looking down at the hostages lined up face to face attracts attention at once. Robbers with guns exude energy and intimidation in front of money bags full of unified currency. Will the plans of the robber gang, which is aiming for money that was not in the world and occupying the Mint with only 8 people, go smoothly?

The production team and actors added explanations about the combination of Hahoe mask and red jumpsuit, which attracted global attention. Director Kim Hong-sun revealed the reason for choosing Hahoe mask, “It is a representative mask that all Koreans know, and the humor of Hahoe mask also matches the work.” Art director Seo Sung-kyung, who created the sophisticated and modern design of the mask, explained, “The Mint was in a dark tone, and white suited red jumpsuit the best.”

The actors shared their thoughts, “Hahoe mask contains a lot of expressions. Of course I’m smiling, but I’m not just smiling. There is anger and mystery in it” (Jang Yoon-ju), “There are also criticisms against the power class and the meaning of freedom” (Park Hae-soo), “The impact of red clothes was very strong. As soon as I tried on the clothes, I thought, ‘First of all, the outfit is successful, it’s cool enough.'” (Kim Ji-hun), “When we got together as a group, I felt that our aura was huge even though we weren’t doing anything” (Lee Hyun-woo)

Meanwhile, Part 1 of “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” will be released only on Netflix on June 24th.
