Born on August 31, 2004, in Yongsan, Seoul, Korea, Jang Wonyoung is the youngest of two sisters. She attended an international kindergarten and continued her education at Yonggang Middle School after graduating from Seoul Sinyongsan Elementary School.
Her discovery by Starship Ent took place at her sister’s high school graduation in 2016. Following a year and two months of training, Jang Wonyoung represented the company on the survival program Produce 48 and ended up winning the competition by ranking 1st place in the finale.
