Lee Ji Ah is enjoying her heyday after playing Shim Soo Ryeon in SBS’s “Penthouse” series, which ended in September last year.

Apart from drama acting, Lee Ji Ah also appeared on JTBC’s entertainment show “Sea of Hope” and hosted EBS 1TV’s current affairs and culture program “XR Space Grand Documentary Project: The Home” last year. The actress is currently filming tvN’s new TV series “First Lady”.

“First Lady”, which is scheduled to air in 2023, depicts a revenge that takes place after a woman, who forgot everything while living a life that is envied by everyone, recovers her memory.

In this drama, Lee Ji Ah will play Hong Tae Ra, a top-class woman who has no regrets about wealth and fame. Hong Tae Ra is the wife of Pyo Jae Hyun (Lee Sang Yoon), a genius developer and businessman whom the MZ Generation admire, and the mother of a beautiful daughter.

Attention is focused on the acting performance of Lee Ji Ah, who will transform from an affectionate mother of her daughter and a “queen of housewives” who holds numerous cooking certificates into a fierce woman who plans revenge for her survival.

Meanwhile, Lee Ji Ah made her debut in 2004 after appearing in a telecommunication CF with actor Bae Yong Joon, who already became a Hallyu star. In 2007, she reunited with Bae Yong Joon in MBC’s drama “The Legend” and gained recognition for her stable acting skills despite being a rookie actress at that time.

Lee Ji Ah then starred in various works, such as MBC’s “Beethoven Virus”, SBS’s “Style” and “Athena: Goddess of War”, and received huge love from the viewers. In 2011, she publicized her romantic relationship with top actor Jung Woo Sung.

Less than a month later, her divorce from singer Seo Tai Ji, who was called the “cultural president” at that time, was reported. The entertainment industry was turned upside down due to news of the couple’s lawsuit for alimony and property division.

In fact, Lee Ji Ah and Seo Tai Ji met as fan and star in 1993 then got married in 1997 when Seo Tai Ji was living in the U.S. After 2 years and 7 months, they began living separately. When Seo Tai Ji returned to Korea in 2000, Lee Ji Ah filed for divorce in a California court in 2006.

In the end, Lee Ji Ah also broke up with Jung Woo Sung 3 months after announcing their relationship. The actress continued to draw keen public attention until Jung Woo Sung appeared on MBC’s “Golden Fishery” and explained that he knew Lee Ji Ah’s past.
