13 years ago, the historical-romance series “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” was released, starring
Park Yoo Chun, Park Min Young, Yoo Ah In, Song Joong Ki, and Jeon Tae Soo, and gaining huge popularity.
Whilst the series brought its cast members fame, the various scandals and difficulties that occurred later to them are being highly discussed.
Park Yoo Chun
In “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”, Park Yoo Chun assumed the role of male lead Lee Sun Joon. Originally debuted as a member of boy group DBSK and later JYJ, he also gained huge recognition in the acting world with “Miss Ripley”, “Rooftop Prince”, and so on.
However, it’s no exaggeration to say that Park Yoo Chun’s career has “collapsed”, 13 years after “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” due to drug and sexual harassment controversies. In particular, 4 women accused the idol-actor of sexual assault in 2016, though his agency refuted all claims. He was deemed not guilty in 2017.
However, in April 2017, Park Yoo Chun announced his marriage with Hwang Hana, only for the supposed marriage to fall through. Hwang Hana later implied that Park Yoo Chun used drugs, and he later tested positive and was arrested.

Park Min Young
Park Min Young plays female lead Kim Yoon Hee in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”, and while her career is mostly smooth-sailing, there are still some notable issues.
First, Park Min Young was recently criticized for alleged “abuse of plastic surgery”, to the point some netizens said her beauty was ruined. Then, in September 2022, Park Min Young was revealed to have dated Kang Jong Hyun, a businessman.

Song Joong Ki
Song Joong Ki, in the role of Gu Yong Ha in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”, caused much buzz when he married and called it quits with Song Hye Kyo after less than 2 years of living together.
Song Joong Ki one-sidedly filed for divorce and announced it to the media, causing Song Hye Kyo to be criticized. This made Song Joong Ki’s image worse in the public eye.

Jeon Tae Soo
