Targeting the Burning Sun Scandal? “Model Taxi 2” reaches new highest rating peak in episode 12

SBS’s “Taxi Driver 2” broke its own viewership record with its new episode about “Black Sun” club reminiscent of the Burning Sun Scandal.

According to the rating research company Nielsen Korea, episode 12 of “Model Taxi 2”, which aired on April 1st, achieved a nationwide viewership of 18.3%.

This is a sharp increase of 3.8% from 14.5% recorded in episode 11, and 0.6% higher than the drama’s previous rating peak of 17.7% (episode 10). In the Seoul area, the rating of episode 12 reached 19.4% with a real-time peak of 21.6%.

In the 12th episode, Kim Do Ki (Lee Je Hoon) witnessed serious crimes by disguising himself as a guard to uncover the true identity of the club “Black Sun”, which is suspected of having connections with the ruthless and cruel villain Oh Ha Joon (Shin Jae Ha). This episode drew keen attention as it reminded viewers of the Burning Sun scandal that shocked the whole nation in 2019. 

“Taxi Driver Season 2” is a drama about Rainbow Taxi Company and taxi driver Kim Do Ki seeking private revenge on behalf of the unfair victims. It airs every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m.
