Super Junior’s Eunhyuk appeared on stage for the 1st time at SMTOWN concert after his father’s passing

Eunhyuk had his first public appearance at SMTOWN LIVE 2022 in Suwon following his father’s death.

The concert “SMTOWN LIVE 2022: SMCU EXPRESS @HUMAN CITY_SUWON” was held at Suwon World Cup Stadium on August 20th and lasted for about 4 hours.

The concert drew a lot of attention as it is SM’s first offline family concert held in Korea in about 5 years since the “SMTOWN LIVE” concert that took place at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in 2017.

30,000 attendees filled up the stadium yesterday and responded enthusiastically to SM artists’ performances. SM groups and soloists also expressed their overwhelming emotions at being able to see domestic fans in person at a joint concert for the first time in 5 years.

Among them, veteran idol group Super Junior’s stage particularly left a strong impression. The 18-year-old group performed the title track “Black Suit” from their 8th full album, the iconic “Sorry Sorry” from their 3rd full album, “Bonamana” from the 4th full album, “Don’t Wait” and “Mango” from the 11th full album. Super Junior heated up the stadium’s atmosphere with both old and new songs from their discography.

Through the performances, Super Junior members showed off high-quality synchronized choreography and perfect teamwork, boasting the power of veteran idols.

Super Junior’s performance at this SM concert also marked the first public appearance of Eunhyuk, who recently suffered the pain of losing his father. Eunhyuk’s father passed away earlier this month right before he left for “SUPER JUNIOR WORLD TOUR – SUPER SHOW 9: ROAD in MANILA”.

After the sudden and heartbreaking news, Super Junior members decided that Eunhyuk would sit out of the Manila concert. They asked for the fans’ understanding. Fans have expressed their condolences to Eunhyuk and his family.

Eunhyuk, who performed in front of domestic fans for the first time in about a week, talked about the importance of family. Eunhyuk said, “I recently realized the importance of family,” adding, “I feel like a family to the SM artists who gathered here, as well as the 30,000 spectators at the site.” He said, “I always feel strong.”

Eunhyuk, who was going through a tough time because of his father’s passing, was hurt again when he was mocked with a question on a Philippine variety show.

Although it’s clear that the wound hasn’t healed yet, Eunhyuk perfectly completed the stage with professionalism today, adding more resonance to ‘SMTOWN LIVE 2022 Suwon’ with calmer and more sincere words. any moment. It was a moment that clearly showed how nervous he had to be before taking the position.

Meanwhile, ‘SMTOWN LIVE 2022: SMCU EXPRESS’ will continue to heat up Tokyo Dome, Japan from the 27th to the 29th of this month.
