Following the news of Eunhyuk’s father passing away, Super Junior announced the cancellation of the Manila concert

Super Junior eventually canceled their Manila concert, which was supposed to be held today (August 6th).

On August 6th, Label SJ said on their official SNS account, “After many long discussions between the promoter and SUPER JUNIOR members, we both agreed that it will be difficult to properly hold [SUPER JUNIOR WORLD TOUR – SUPER SHOW 9: ROAD in MANILA] as scheduled”.

Accordingly, Super Junior members will not perform but still meet and greet fans who visited Manila for their concert on this day.

The agency said, “We’d like to ask everyone with tickets to enter the concert venue on time”.

Earlier on the same day, Label SJ reported the passing of Super Junior member Eunhyuk’s father. The funeral is said to be held privately with relatives and close acquaintances only as decided upon by the bereaved family.

In addition, the agency also announced on August 3rd that member Choi Si-won had been confirmed with Covid-19 and would not attend the Manila concert.

Following the unfortunate news of Choi Si-won and Eunhyuk, the members seem to have come to the conclusion that it would be difficult to continue the Manila concert.

Fans were sad about the cancellation of Super Junior’s concert but they understand that the members, who have been with Eunhyuk for nearly 20 years, would not be happy to perform in this situation.

Meanwhile, Super Junior recently resumed their overseas tours after three years due to the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic. Starting with their Seoul concert last month, the group already finished their show in Bangkok and plans to continue their tour in Manila, Jakarta, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Kuala Lumpur.
