“Squid Game: The Challenge” faces lawsuit as participants suffer injuries

The Netflix reality adaptation of “Squid Game” is being sued by participants, who suffer from heavy injuries.

According to numerous foreign media reports, including The Hollywood Reporter, several participants of “Squid Game: The Challenge” have announced their intention to take legal action against Netflix and the show’s production company. According to these contestants, due to poor health and safety standards on the set, they have suffered injuries such as hypothermia and nerve damage.

In particular, one participant said that 5 minutes of footage was filmed over several hours in the cold winter weather. At 3 Celsius degree, this weather was described as a “ware zone” by a participant.

Regarding this, executive producer John Hay explained, “Welfare and safety are obviously paramount for us. And we’ve taken appropriate measures to look after people. The particular criticism you’re talking about was centered around the filming of ‘Red Light, Green Light.’ That was a big, complicated shoot, and it was a cold day, and it took quite a long time. But everyone was prepared for that and looked after properly. We anticipated and actually strenuously tested everything in advance and made sure we took all the proper measures.”

Meanwhile, “Squid Game: The Challenge” was released on Netflix on November 22nd.
