Song Kang-ho got embarrassed at Lee Byung-hun’s blunt remark during the recent interview.
Actors Song Kang-ho, Lee Byung-hun, Jeon Do-yeon, Kim Nam-gil, and Im Si-wan, who star in the movie “Emergency Declaration”, had an interview on KBS’s entertainment program “Entertainment Weekly”, which aired on July 7th.
When asked how he felt about coming to the Cannes Film Festival last year with the movie “Emergency Declaration”, Song Kang-ho said, “Well, I don’t know…”.
Lee Byung-hun jokingly said, “He has been to so many film festivals. I don’t think he knows what movie you’re talking about. I guess he’s confused.”
When asked about his feelings when winning Best Actor at Cannes, Song Kang-ho pointed to Jeon Do-yeon and said, “Don’t we have a Cannes award-winning senior here?”. Jeon Do-yeon responded, “I can’t really remember anything about it since it was a long time ago”, drawing laughter.
Song Kang-ho then humbly said, “Thank you for congratulating me. For actors, winning an award is not the final goal. It’s just a milestone in their career.”
As soon as Song Kang-ho finished his speech, Lee Byung-hun frankly commented, “I hope you can be honest. We’re all doing this because of awards.”
Song Kang-ho burst out laughing as if he was embarrassed by Lee Byung-hun’s remark, making everyone laugh so hard.
“Emergency Declaration”, starring Song Kang-ho and Lee Byung-hun, is an aviation disaster film that depicts what happens when a terrorist threat occurs on a plane flying from Incheon to Hawaii. It will premiere on August 3rd.
