The stage greeting event for the movie “Confession” has been canceled following the Itaewon disaster.
On October 30th, the production crew of the movie “Confession” (director Yoon Jong Seop) announced that the stage greeting scheduled for the same day was canceled, saying, “We ask for the understanding of the audience as this is a decision based on the national mourning following the tragedy.”
“Confession” depicts the story of promising businessman Yoo Min Ho, who is identified as the sole suspect in a secret room murder case, and Yang Shin Ae, a lawyer with a 100% win rate who tries to prove his innocence, as they put together the pieces of the hidden case. Leading actors So Ji Sub, Kim Yun Jin, Nana, and Yoon Jong Seok were originally scheduled to tour movie theaters in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province today to express their gratitude to the viewers.
Earlier, on October 29th, tens of thousands of people gathered to enjoy the Halloween festival in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, where a heartbreaking crushing accident occurred. As of 10 am KST on October 30th, 151 people were announced dead and 76 people were injured. The fire authorities have set up a missing person reception center at the Hannam-dong Community Center in Yongsan-gu to confirm the identity of the casualties while checking for additional damage.
