Seventeen made their first appearance at #9 on the IFPI Global Artist Chart

Boy group Seventeen (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) first entered the “Global Artist Chart” selected by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).

According to IFPI’s announcement on its official website and SNS channel on Feb 25th, Seventeen ranked 9th on the Global Artist Chart 2021, a chart that is calculated according to an artist’s or group’s worldwide performance across digital and physical music formats during the year.

In particular, BTS and Seventeen are the only K-pop artists that made it to the top 10 of the Global Artist Chart 2021. Seventeen added a special meaning by appearing on the chart for the first time since their debut.

Seventeen IFPI Global Artist Chart

Seventeen achieved 5 consecutive million sellers with their 9th mini album “Attacca” last year as well as set their own best record by making it to the chart for 2 weeks in a row on Billboard’s main album chart “Billboard 200“.

In addition, Seventeen was selected as the artist of December and the first K-pop artist for the “MTV PUSH” campaign to highlight global artists by selecting an artist every month, proving the potential of a “global K-pop powerhouse”.
