SEVENTEEN Joshua’s merchandise boycotted by Japanese fans after dating rumors?

After getting embroiled in dating rumors due to alleged “lovestagrams”, SEVENTEEN Joshua is in a crisis.

On August 9th, boy group SEVENTEEN opened a pop-up store in Shibuya, Tokyo, ahead of their Japanese dome tour “FOLLOW to Japan”.

As the group is highly popular in Japan, merchandise for the pop-up store quickly sells out, and the image picket is no exception.

However, whilst the image picket for the remaining 12 members of SEVENTEEN has been marked as “SOLD OUT”, Joshua remains the only member with stock left for this merchandise.

It is therefore suspected that Japanese fans are boycotting Joshua by opting not to buy his merchandise for the “FOLLOW to Japan” tour.

A popular tweet from a Japanese fan has garnered a lot of attention: “Is Joshua looking at us like this?”

Previously, SEVENTEEN Joshua received heavy criticism due to his dating rumors with model Cho Mi Young. In particular, the male idol is suspected to have published various “lovestagrams” with his alleged girlfriend, bringing her to the front row of a SEVENTEEN concert, and even holding a live broadcast for fans at her house

As these rumors circulate, many fans, including Japanese ones, have expressed their frustration. Some even took it as far as to send protest trucks to the building of Pledis Entertainment (SEVENTEEN’s agency), demanding him to leave the group.
