Seo Ye-ji revealed her first activities with “Eve’s Scandal”, a romantic revenge drama, after the controversy
tvN’s new drama “Eve’s Scandal” confirms the appearance of Seo Ye-ji, and announces their launch in 2022.
tvN’s new drama “Eve’s Scandal” (directed by Park Bong-seop / script written by Yoon Young-mi / Produced by Studio Dragon, CJest Entertainment) is a 13-year-long story about the planning of a life-threatening revenge. Expectations are high for the cooperation of director Park Bong-seop, who was recognized for his solid directing through “The Uncanny Counter” and “Drama Stage 2020 – Blackout”, and writer Yoon Young-mi, who wrote dramas “One Well Raised Daughter,” and “Birth of a Beauty,” through the most intense and alluring high-quality melodrama about a revenge plan that will destroy the top 0.1% class of Korea.
Seo Ye-ji plays the role of “Lee Ra-el,” a woman who designed the revenge plan. After carefully planning her revenge due to the shocking death of her father during her childhood, Lee Ra-el is a fatal woman who will become the main character of a divorce suit worth 2 trillion won for an upper-class couple in the top 0.1% class of Korea. Regarding Seo Ye-ji, who was cast as Lee Ra-el, the production team said, “We think acting skill and the ability to digest the character is more important than anything else as ‘Eve’s Scandal’ contained the process of meticulously preparing for a revenge plan,” adding, “Seo Ye-ji is an actor with a strong image and energy to immerse herself into Lee Ra-el’s character. Her high understanding of the character and extraordinary affection for this work are the main reasons why we confirmed the casting with her,” they explained.
Meanwhile, Park Byung-eun plays the role of Kang Yoon-gyeom, a man who chose danger. Kang Yoon-gyeom, CEO of LY Group, the No. 1 business group, is a man who has been faithful to his family and work without a single scandal with thorough self-management, but falls in love with Lee Ra-el (Seo Ye-ji) after seeing her. In this regard, the production team of “Eve’s Scandal” said, “From the standpoint of Lee Ra-el, Kang Yoon-gyeom is one of the scars of her collapsed family history and a man who she has to fall in love with, so we needed an actor with a mask that can express both sides of this character who looks like a sexy intellectual in his mid-to-40s.” In that sense, we thought Park Byung-eun, who has an attractive mask that freely crosses good and evil, and an acting ability that adds depth to the character’s narrative, was perfect. “You will be able to feel another charm of Park Byung-eun,” they said, raising expectations for Park Byung-eun‘s acting transformation.
At the same time, Yoo Sun played the role of Han So-ra, a woman who craved to be the best. Han So-ra, the only child of the most powerful political figure in the world and the wife of Kang Yoon-gyeom (Park Byung-eun), is a character with emotional anxiety and obsession with her husband inside her perfect and splendid appearance. Attention is focusing on what other passionate performances will come from Yoo Sun, who has been receiving favorable reviews for her stable acting in each work. The production team of “Eve’s Scandal” said, “Yoo Seon is an actor with the perfect appearance of a woman who has everything, while her visual and acting ability is enough to express the character’s inner self which is stained with wounds, anxiety, and obsession at the same time,” raising expectations.
Finally, Lee Sang-yeop plays the role of Seo Eun-pyeong, a man who has something to protect. Seo Eun-pyeong, who is well-known as the youngest member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, has overcome his painful past at an orphanage to rise to where he is now, but is determined to abandon all of it for love. Expectations are mounting over how Lee Sang-yeop, who has proven his deep acting skills through a number of works, will portray Seo Eun-pyeong. In response, the “Eve’s Scandal” production team said, “The image of Seo Eun-pyeong and Lee Sang-yeop, who could generously throw away everything they accumulated for love, fit perfectly,” adding, “More than anything, when we saw Lee Sang-yeop’s warm, soft, and firm eyes at the first meeting, we were convinced that it was Seo Eun-pyeong himself.”
As such, “Eve’s Scandal” raises expectations over how Seo Ye-ji, Park Byung-eun, Yoo Seon, and Lee Sang-yeop, who have their own distinct personalities, will create their strong synergy.
