Previously, SBS launched “Running Man Vietnam” Season 1 and 2 through the Vietnamese terrestrial channel HTV7 from 2019 to last year, drawing great attention locally.

From Mikael Daez, the all-round entertainer loved by the Philippines, to trending actors Ruru Madrid and Glaiza De Castro, the cast is attracting keen attention from Filipino viewers.

Accordingly, the Philippines is raising expectations for the first broadcast as various pre-promotions were announced, including a program launching event at a large shopping mall in Manila (the capital of the Philippines) on August 27th and a surprise release of “Running Man Philippines” theme song through Spotify on August 30th.

“Running Man Philippines” will provide many things to see to Filipino viewers by filming all episodes of the season at major attractions in Korea. With SBS’ PD Choi So-hyung participating as the director, the members of “Running Man Philippines” will challenge “Running Man” signature game “Name-tag ripping” and the “Flying Chair” quiz, an essential item for Korean variety shows, against the background of Hwaseong Haenggung (Suwon, Gyeonggi-do), Wolmido Park (Incheon), Sunshine Studio (Nonsan) and Mokpo. They are expected to deliver the essence of “K-Entertainment” to Filipino viewers.

PD Choi So-hyung, who is in charge of directing, said, “It was a meaningful time to direct the third overseas ‘Running Man’ after China and Vietnam based on my experience of directing Korean ‘Running Man’. As if reflecting the popularity of Korean ‘Running Man‘, it was impressive to see Filipino cast members actively communicating with Korean staff and working passionately. Based on the production know-how of the three countries, we hope to be able to successfully launch ‘Running Man’ in more countries.”

“Running Man Philippines Season 1” will air on the Filipino terrestrial channel GMA from Saturday, September 3rd.
