The dating rumor was first sparked on September 30th when a leaked video was posted on Weibo, suggesting that Jungkook was hugging a mysterious woman inside his apartment. Netizens exploded with speculations of the idol’s secret girlfriend.
On October 10th, a netizen claimed to have identified the woman in the video as Nicole Kim, who currently lives and works in the US. The netizen even shared photos as supposed evidence of Nicole Kim’s relationship with Jungkook. However, fans of Jungkook have strongly opposed these claims.
Did Jungkook go to Coachella 2023 with Nicole Kim?
In April of this year, Jungkook was spotted at Coachella, the world’s largest music festival. In a video taken of Jungkook at Coachella, he is seen standing next to a woman. The netizen argued that it was Nicole Kim. Nicole Kim shares a similar height with Jungkook, and the couple in the leaked video inside the apartment seemed to be of almost equal stature. As a result, the netizen claimed that Nicole Kim was indeed the woman in the intimate video.
Interestingly, Nicole Kim is known to be a former translator for BTS. She left Big Hit in June. This context could explain her appearance with Jungkook in April. So this is not necessarily proof of a romantic relationship.
Jungkook and Nicole Kim went to Jeju together?
On September 14th, Nicole Kim posted a photo from a restaurant on Jeju Island, South Korea, on her Instagram. The netizen claimed that Jungkook was also present at the same restaurant at the same time as Nicole Kim. However, no concrete evidence was provided.
In fact, Jungkook had a schedule in the US from September 12th to 16th. Therefore, it’s impossible for Jungkook to have dined at a restaurant on Jeju Island with Nicole Kim during that time.
Jungkook drew inspiration for his new MV from his rumored girlfriend?
The netizen pointed out that Nicole Kim had been seen wearing an outfit similar to those of the dancers in Jungkook’s 3D MV on two separate occasions. Yet, fans argue that this is just a coincidence since such an outfit combination is not uncommon.
